Dear colleagues!
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I have the honor to inform you about the inclusion of the 10th International Karate Tournament MINSK OPEN - SANKER CUP 2014 in the program of the festival of Japanese culture "Japanese Autumn in Belarus in 2014" which is held by the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Belarus. Our Tournament was first included in the program of the festival last year, and at the opening ceremony SANKER CUP 2013 athletes were greeted by Ambassador of Japan in the Republic of Belarus Sigehiro Mimori.
Festival "Japanese Autumn in Belarus" is held annually by the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Belarus to familiarize the citizens of Belarus with various aspects of traditional and modern Japanese culture, as well as to increase understanding of Japan. Organizers of the cultural events devoted to Japanese topics are invited to the festival - and our Tournament as well as possible satisfies this condition.
In 2013 within the festival has been held 12 cultural events which included lectures, seminars, workshops, exhibitions, concerts and, of course, our Tournament. The activities of the festival was visited by over 12,000 people. Information about "Japanese Autumn" and selected activities were presented in a variety of media over 120 times. Tournament SANKER CUP 2013 has made its modest contribution to the promotion of Japanese culture - let's not forget that karate as a martial art and as a sport recognized by the International Olympic Committee, was formed for the first time in Japan. This year we Organizers of the Tournament will make every effort for greater promotion of Japanese culture through the promotion of karate as a sport.
With best regards and gratitude to the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Belarus, Chairman of Association "Minsk Karate Federation" Pavel Piatsiko
